Safety
SAFETY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! Our power supplies are high voltage devices, and thus great care should be taken by the user to avoid electric shocks. The user of these products must be familiar with, and exercise, high voltage safety practices. AS STATED IN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE, THE USER ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY. Please contact us if you have any questions about operating your power supply.
Safety Tips
- The ‘HV’ switch acts as a kill switch. When this switch is in the ‘OFF’ position, there will be no high voltage at the output cables. Please note that it may take several seconds from setting this switch to the ‘OFF’ position for the load to be fully discharged.
- NEVER CONNECT LOADS WHILE HV IS ON.
- When in panic mode, the power supply will automatically attempt to discharge any connected loads. However, it is recommended to manually discharge the loads by setting the HV switch to the ‘OFF’ position before touching any high voltage components.
- Always turn off the HV switch and wait several seconds before connecting or disconnecting loads to or from the power supply.
- If HV arcing (sparking) is detected (i.e. if the load breaks, the HV cables are shorted, or HV connections are near metallic surfaces, etc.), immediately cease operation, and turn off the HV switch.
- DO NOT connect high voltage loads directly back to the common ground of the HDMI port or input power.
- DO NOT operate the HVPS with the HV cables shorted together.
- Avoid holding the HVPS during operation. It is recommended that the HVPS be placed in a stationary location during operation.
- Be sure to always discharge the loads fully when not in use. This can be done manually by switching the HV control switch to the ‘OFF’ position, or in software by entering the following command into the ARDI console:
psu.zero()
- For best results, please wait several seconds after turning off the HV switch before turning off the power supply.
