Flashing Firmware

You may wish to switch your device between unipolar and bipolar firmware. Furthermore, Artimus Robotics will periodically release updated versions of firmware for your power supply. To download the latest firwmare, please visit our downloads page.

Prerequisites

To flash firmware binaries onto your device, you will first need to download and install tyTools from the official page. Note: on Linux, you will also need to set udev rules to allow programming access to the device. For instructions on doing so, please refer to this document.

The Flashing Process

Once installed, connect the power supply to the computer via USB cable and open the newly installed tyUploader program. Upon powering on, the power supply will appear in tyUploader as a USB Serial device.

With this device selected, press the ‘Upload’ button in tyUploader, and select the .hex file when prompted. The firmware will then be flashed in a process that takes about 10 seconds. Afterwards, the power supply will restart automatically and is immediately ready for use.

Please do not use the USB Isolator when flashing firmware, as it may cause the process to fail.

You can verify the firmware version by launching ardi. The firmware version will be displayed in the terminal output. If you encounter any issues during the flashing process, please contact Artimus Robotics for support.
